Welcome to Englishvice Canes. I am Miss Stripewell — Head Shopmistress, Chief Craftswoman, and the singular person responsible for every cane that leaves this studio. Before you browse the shop, I think it only proper that you understand precisely what this establishment is, what it is not, and why that distinction matters.

Englishvice Canes is an artisan operation in the truest sense of the word. Every cane I offer — whether a slender dragon rattan school cane with a traditional English crook handle or a formidable judicial-grade implement in white Malacca — is crafted by my hands alone, from start to finish, in my studio here in the United States. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is mass-produced. No third-party vendor will ever sell you one of my canes. If it did not pass through my hands at every stage of the crafting process, it does not carry my name.

I have been a practitioner and connoisseur of the English disciplinary arts for over two decades. That experience informs everything — the materials I select, the tolerances I work to, the weight and taper I seek in a finished implement. A cane is not a novelty. It is a precision instrument with a long and serious institutional history, and it deserves to be treated accordingly.

The material question is one I feel strongly about. Authentic English school canes — those used in institutions from the Victorian era through to the mid-1980s — were crafted from rattan with the skin intact. Not rattan reed. Not rattan heart. Not Delrin, not hardwood, and most certainly not bamboo, which I regard as an accident waiting to happen. The skin is what imparts strength, resilience, and the characteristic behaviour of a proper punishment cane. I source the finest dragon rattan from Southeast Asia — a rare and expensive material, air-freighted to me by courier at considerable cost and cleared through customs at my expense. When a superior material is available, there is no case for an inferior one.
My cane collections span the full range of the English disciplinary tradition: classic dragon rattan school canes in natural finish; smoked and treated variants for those who prefer a darker aesthetic; knotless lengths for the purist; judicial-grade prison canes; the Aristasia Disciplinary Cane, faithfully reproduced to the specifications set out in Miss Regina Snow’s The Female Disciplinary Manual; and kooboo rattan alternatives for those seeking a different weight and character. I also carry a small selection of Whangee canes for the experienced practitioner who knows precisely what they are working with.

My clientele includes professional disciplinarians, serious collectors, lifestyle practitioners, and adult role-play enthusiasts who understand the difference between a cane and a toy. I make no apology for my premium pricing — quality is never accidental, and more goes into a Stripewell cane than most makers would care to admit.
